The outdoors and clothing retailer L.L. Bean recently announce it was waiving shipping charges from now on. There will be no shipping charges on any order with no minimum order requirements.
Freeport, Maine based Bean joins Zappos.com in offering no-strings-attached free shipping across the board.
According to Steve Fuller, the company’s chief marketing officer, “our customers told us repeatedly, they did not want to pay for shipping,” Most purchases will be delivered free in two to five business days with no minimum order under the new policy. Charges are applicable on overnight or one-day delivery.

Strong results were achieved from a four month free shipping promotion for it’s L.L. Bean Visa Card holders. The company has been testing the free shipping waters for the past three years. Bean is returning to the free shipping model used in its early days by its founder, Leon Leonwood Bean. As a catalog company, Bean shipped free merchandise until 1992.

Announcing The First Annual Breast Cancer Charity Drive

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Estonish.com is pleased to announce it’s first annual “Breast Cancer Charity Drive”, a one month fundraising campaign beginning on Thursday, October 1, 2009 and running through Saturday, October 31, 2009. Estonish.com will donate 25% of its entire revenue for the month of October 2009.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The Susan G. Komen Foundation is dedicated to education and research about causes, treatment, and the search for a cure. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas
